I TRIED BUT THERE'S
NO DOOR I

2025
180 × 65 × 4cm
mixed media installation

I Tried But There’s No Door is an embodiment of powerlessness, disorientation, and persistent, unresolved effort.

Through an accumulation of door handles — each a visual echo of repeated attempts — and a conceptual wooden door that remains permanently closed, the work becomes a quiet yet insistent meditation on the paradox of seeking an exit where none exists. The artist navigates the tension between desire and futility, tracing the emotional texture of trying: the ache, the absurdity, and the unexpected beauty that emerge in the process.
