ARTIST STATEMENT
Millie Chen is an early-career visual artist dedicated in expressing her thoughts and ask questions through mixed media work.
Having lived in China and now living in the UK, Chen’s works focus on the intersectional feminism, post-colonial legacies, and modern life crisis.
Chen believes in the meanings and power hidden within common objects in our mundane lives. By deconstructing and reconstructing them, new narratives and connections are shaped with twists. When creating a work, she often starts from her own experience, and turns to objects at home or in the street for an artistic solution.
